Trans business woman made history by purchasing The Miss Universe Pageant for $20 million

A Thai trans activist and businesswoman bought the long-running Miss Universe Organization in an important deal.

On October 28, Anne Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip, CEO of JKN Global Group PCL, announced that the company has acquired the world-renowned organization for $20 million.


The international competition was previously owned by IMG Worldwide LLC, which bought it from Donald Trump in 2015.

Jakrajutatip previously bought the broadcasting rights of popular TV productions such as Project Runway and Shark Tank.
