Young queer girl subjected to abuse

22-year-old Ulkar Ehtiram gizi Azizova is being subjected to pressure and persecution by her family due to her gender and sexual orientation. She shared this information on the social network Facebook. She says her family took all her documents and kept her in the village for two years under duress, threatening to kill her.

Ulkar reports that she had to flee to a foreign country two years ago due to similar pressures, but her family found her and brought her back. She also mentioned being forced to take psychotropic drugs and being threatened with placement in a psychiatric hospital.

The victim has left home again but fears her family will find and kill her: "They might report me as missing to the police to find me again. Currently, I have neither an ID card to file a complaint nor a phone number to call 102. However, I plan to contact the police directly with my documents as soon as possible. But during this time, I fear my family will find me."

Ulkar is hoping for help from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Azerbaijan - the Ombudsman, and the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children's Affairs.
