The V Sevil International Women's Documentary Film Festival is starting

The festival, under the slogan "Let me say a word too," will take place simultaneously in four cities of the country.

The dates for the V Sevil International Women's Documentary Film Festival have been announced.

Festival communication manager Aygül Qurbanova informed "Abzas Media" about this.

She stated that this year, the V SevilFest will be held from July 5-12 under the slogan "Let me say a word too" and will take place simultaneously in the cities of Baku, Shaki, Lankaran, and Shabran.

"This year, the festival again offers its audience a rich and multifaceted program. As in previous years, the festival will feature competition films in the categories of local short documentaries, international short documentaries, and feature-length documentaries. A special section, 'Selections from Festivals,' will showcase films that are laureates of world festivals to the Azerbaijani audience," Aygül Qurbanova stated.

Aygül Qurbanova added that the festival will also host many international foreign guests this year, with master classes conducted by professionals from the global film industry and various panel discussions.

The Sevil International Women's Documentary Film Festival is an independent documentary film festival that has been active since 2020.

The main goal of the festival is to raise awareness of gender-based issues through art and documentary films.

The festival presents acclaimed films from all over the world to the Azerbaijani audience and engages them in public discussions around various gender-based issues.

The festival actively works to create a safe and inclusive space for women and underrepresented groups, to increase their participation and contributions to the documentary film industry in the country. Through screenings, discussions, and other activities, SevilFest aims to promote and develop the documentary film sector, particularly by supporting and empowering the voices of marginalised filmmakers.
