LGBTQI+s walked on Bağdat Street during the 22nd Istanbul Pride March

Despite all the bans and obstacles, the 22nd Istanbul Pride March took place on June 30. Istanbul Pride Week Committee said, "If necessary, we can pierce stones, bend time, and find each other again in our smiles."

The Istanbul Governorship decided to ban the Taksim and Istiklal Avenue areas in the early hours of the march day and described the Istanbul LGBTQI+ Pride Week Committee, which made the call, as "various illegal groups". LGBTIQ+s held the march despite all the bans and obstacles.

After the march following the press release, LGBTQI+s dispersed for security reasons. The police searched for LGBTQI+s in the side streets. 15 people, including those under the age of 18, were detained. The detainees were released late at night.
