Human Rights Watch published a report on Afghan queers

Human Rights Watch, together with OutRight Action International, a non-governmental organization dedicated to the protection of LGBTI+s, has published a report on the lives of queer people in Afghanistan under Taliban’s rule.

Experts are pessimistic: the study found that LGBTI+s are increasingly persecuted in the country, including being beaten and sexually abused.

"In Afghanistan, under the Taliban's rule, people who do not conform to strict gender norms are more at risk and their lives and security are increasingly threatened," Human Rights Watch said. A new report shows that while the Taliban's rise to power in Afghanistan is a tragedy for human rights in general, LGBTI+ Afghans have become a more vulnerable group among the victims.
