Lady Gaga has been appointed as an arts advisor

President Biden has announced the appointment of Lady Gaga, Shonda Rhimes, George Clooney, and 21 other entertainers and academics to an arts advisory committee that had been dissolved under the Trump administration.

Gaga, whose legal name is Stefani Germanotta, will co-chair the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities with producer Bruce Cohen.

The committee will advise President Biden on cultural policy, with members chosen for their "serious commitment to the arts and humanities," according to a statement from the White House. The move is part of the Biden administration's efforts to prioritise the arts and support cultural initiatives.

Lady Gaga, who has been a vocal advocate for the LGBTQI+ community and mental health awareness, is expected to bring her unique perspective and creative vision to the committee's work.

The announcement has been met with enthusiasm from fans and supporters of the arts, who hope that the committee will help promote the value and importance of cultural expression in American society.
