Turkish political oxymoron: IYI Party
The IYI Party promises to struggle against discrimination, but also advocates for immigrant isolation and deportation: a political oxymoron.
The İYİ Party, a political party in Turkey, has promised to fight against sexual orientation-based discrimination in their election manifesto.
The manifesto includes a pledge to adopt the principle of equality for all to prevent such discrimination and to increase legal measures against violence based on sexual orientation.
However, the same manifesto also contains discriminatory promises against immigrants, including isolation and deportation, and a "pushback" policy at the borders.
The İYİ Party is currently vying for the Presidential and 28th Term Parliamentary Elections in Turkey.
