Nafas LGBTI Azerbaijan Alliance celebrated Pride Month

On June 28th, Nafas LGBTI Azerbaijan Alliance gathered at Salaam Cinema to discuss the experiences of LGBTQI+ individuals and their families in terms of acceptance or rejection, analyze these relationships from various perspectives, and explore what is needed for improving the current situation. The event aimed to bring together different viewpoints and examine the aspects of family and parental support through personal experiences.

The first part of the event featured a panel discussion titled "Harmony with Parents of LGBTI+ Children." The organization sought to provide support to both LGBTI+ individuals and their parents, as well as comrades who are considering coming out to their families, by sharing the experiences of previous guests in both personal and professional relationships.

The discussion included the participation of trans individual Herman Javadzadeh, social worker Aida Mirzayeva from Gender Resource Center, and psychologist Ali Abbasov. The panel was moderated by trans activist and volunteer Azad Bakhti.

The second part of the event featured a party with pop music, followed by a belly dance performance and techno music.
