Nafas LGBTI commemorates the Transgender Week of Remembrance

Nafas LGBTI Azerbaijan Alliance has announced that it will commemorate the Transgender Week of Remembrance on November 11-10.

November 20 is celebrated worldwide as the Transgender Day of Remembrance. This day is dedicated to the memory of trans people who were abused and killed due to the intolerance of the society.

Nafas LGBTI Azerbaijan Alliance said that "in countries like Azerbaijan where transphobia is at its peak, highlighting this day and increasing the visibility of violence and crimes committed against trans people is vital."

For this purpose, Nafas LGBTI Azerbaijan Alliance said that it will observe the Transgender Week of Remembrance between November 11 and 10.

The Alliance noted that due to security and logistical reasons, the events on November 11 and 15 will only be possible based on registration and approval. Confirmed guests will be contacted and provided with logistical information.
