“March of Equality” took place in Kyiv

For the first time since the start of a full-scale war, an “Equality March” took place in Ukraine.

In Kyiv, as part of the KievPride 2024 festival, the Equality March took place. Several hundred queer people gathered near the Teatralnaya metro station.

The gathered people walked along Evgeniya Chikalenko Street, they were accompanied by law enforcement agencies. According to a correspondent for the “Вечірній Київ” publication, the march in support of the rights of LGBTQ people lasted only 20 minutes.

The rainbow column was led by queer soldiers. The event was also attended by Verkhovna Rada deputy Dmitry Gurin. People walked several tens of metres, after which the event organisers called on the participants to disperse.
