The Moldovan political bloc proposed to ban “LGBT propaganda”

The Moldovan conservative bloc “Victory” presented a project on the protection of “traditional” values after the Equality March held in the capital.

The “Victory” bloc in the Moldovan parliament has prepared a bill on the protection of “traditional” family values, said deputy Denis Ulanov. This step was made after the Moldova Pride, organised by the public association Genderdoc-M, which defends the rights of the local LGBTQ+ community.

During Pride, queerphobic public organisations and church representatives held a rally in defence of “traditional” values at the monument to Stephen the Great. A group of protesters chanting slogans against the LGBTQ+ march were detained by police and later released.

Ulanov noted that the goal of the bill is “to consolidate the protection of traditional values at the state level.” He emphasised that without the support of the state it is difficult to resist “the propaganda of permissiveness and immorality.”
