FT: The 25 Most Influential Women of 2024

Influence is achieved in many ways—through political actions, creative endeavors, technological advancements, and community building. Regardless of the form it takes, it is defined by the impact made—changing the world we live in. This is epitomized in the 2024 “Women of the Year” issue of FT Weekend Magazine, which features a list of the 25 most influential women, curated by some of the world’s most powerful women.

This year, the FT highlights women who are reshaping the world we live in today. From Margrethe Vestager, Europe’s Competition Commissioner, who capped a decade of shaping the conversation about fair competition in digital markets with two landmark rulings this year, to the phenomenon of Taylor Swift, who revolutionized the industry with the highest-grossing tour of all time.

Among the 25 most influential women is Julia Hoggett. Born in September 1973, Julia Hoggett was appointed CEO of London Stock Exchange plc (LSE) in April 2021. Much of her career has been dedicated to advocating for LGBTQI+ rights, and she spearheaded the first-ever recruitment event for LGBTQI+ students in London.
