“Born again” – A visual story from the État d’Homme archive
The photo story, created for PNPPL Zine and archived by État d’Homme, focuses on the theme of “born again”. The project presents the changing forms of the body, identity and masculinity through a poetic and intimate visual language.
The story features Cesare as the model. The photographs subvert classic masculine images and foreground feelings of fragility, transformation and self-discovery. “We all have to be ‘Born again’ sometimes” is the main idea of this visual series.
The photography, typical of the aesthetic approach of the État d’Homme project, presents the body not simply as an object, but as a vehicle for a story. This approach addresses the themes of identity and internal transformation from a queer perspective.
The project is part of a series of works presented at the intersection of photography and art on the PNPPL Zine platform and is considered one of the examples that expands the expressive possibilities of contemporary queer visual culture.
