Azerbaijan in ILGA-Europe's Rainbow Map

Azerbaijan is at the Bottom of ILGA-Europe's 2024 Rainbow Map. 

The 2024 Rainbow Map by ILGA-Europe, which ranks European countries based on the rights and protections afforded to LGBTQI+ individuals, has placed Azerbaijan at the very bottom with a score of 2%. Alongside Russia and Turkey, Azerbaijan’s ranking highlights severe shortcomings in legal protections and societal acceptance for LGBTQI+ communities.

The report underscores the absence of anti-discrimination laws and legal recognition of same-sex partnerships, alongside prevalent hate speech and violence targeting LGBTQI+ individuals. This dismal ranking reflects a continued environment of hostility and neglect towards LGBTQI+ rights in Azerbaijan.
