Turkish singer Mabel Matiz detained

The Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office has issued arrest warrants for 25 individuals as part of a "narcotics" investigation targeting celebrities. Singer Mabel Matiz has also been detained as part of the investigation.

It was noted that 25 individuals were detained for the crimes of "purchasing, receiving or storing narcotics or stimulants, or using narcotics or stimulants" and "aiding the use of narcotics or stimulants."

The statement issued by the Istanbul Bakırköy Chief Prosecutor's Office stated that the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command was instructed to detain, search, conduct biological examinations and take statements from 25 individuals as part of the investigation into individuals who aid, provide shelter and use narcotics. In this context, it was announced that operations were carried out at 24 different addresses in the Beşiktaş, Sariyer, Beyoğlu, Kağıthane and Üsküdar districts of Istanbul, as well as at one address in Muğla.
