UK Prime Minister: "I'm proud to have the gayest parliament in the world."

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has said his government will "stand up for the rights" of LGBTQI+ people. He made the remarks at a Downing Street reception marking Pride Month on June 29.

"I want to make it clear to all lesbians, all gay men, all bisexual and trans people: this government will stand up for your rights. We must stand up to the politics of division," Starmer said.

In his speech, he also called the British Parliament the "gaiest" parliament in the world.

"I'm really proud to have the gayest parliament. I think not just of all time, but in the world. I don't think there's a gayer parliament than that. It's fantastic."
