Europe hosts Global Black Pride for the first time

On Saturday, September 12, the Global Black Pride march will take place on the streets of Paris, the French capital; the event will conclude with a music festival at the Place de la République.

Global Black Pride events are taking place in Paris from September 9 to 13. It is a festival and conference format situated at the intersection of the LGBTQI+ rights movement and the movement for Black rights. This marks the first time Global Black Pride is being held in Europe. The event was previously organized in Canada and the United States.

A conference titled "The Global Black Queer Assembly: Power. Culture. Innovation." is being held on September 10 and 11 as part of the event. Activists, politicians, medical professionals, artists, and business representatives are participating in the conference. The topics addressed include human rights, racism and discrimination against LGBTQI+ individuals, and the strengthening of solidarity.
