Ghana is discussing the bill that criminalises LGBTI+s

The agenda in Ghana is the draft law that will criminalise LGBTI+s. The United Nations says the bill is a human rights violation.

The draft law, which was submitted to the Ghana Parliament by 8 deputies in June, contains articles that will criminalise LGBTI+s.

The draft law titled “Draft Law on Promoting Appropriate Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values”; characterizes the advocacy of LGBTI+ rights and the actions of LGBTI+s as crimes in Ghana.

In AfricaFeeds news, if the bill becomes law, “everyone who has sexual relations with people of the same sex will be fined or jailed for a period of time, and this penalty points out that it covers everyone  - those with any sexual orientation or gender identity that is alleged to be unconstitutional, such as lesbian, gay, trans, queer, pansexual, nonbinary" will also be punished.

The bill also proposes to imprison LGBTI+ rights defenders.
