Detained LGBTQI+ activists have made statements
On May 23, LGBTQI+ activists Javid Nabiyev and Ali Malikov were detained in front of the 37th police station. They were brought to the Khatai district court at noon on May 24. Ali Malikov was charged with petty hooliganism, and Javid Nabiyev was charged with both petty hooliganism and illegal acquisition, transportation and sending of drugs. Malikov was fined 70 manats, while Nabiyev was fined 300 manats.
