Tories have refused to help LGBTQI+ Ugandans

Tories face criticism for refusing aid to LGBTQ+ Ugandans facing death penalty.

MPs and LGBTQ+ refugee charities are criticising the UK government for not offering safe routes to LGBTQ+ Ugandans seeking refuge. Uganda recently passed a law imposing the death penalty for "aggravated homosexuality." Charities express grave concerns over the lack of safe options.

The government, when questioned, mentioned existing resettlement routes but failed to address policy changes. The UK government condemned the law but emphasised its generous refugee support history.

Critics demand urgent action to protect LGBTQ+ Ugandans facing the death penalty.
