Amanda Jetté Knox urges allies to combat hate

Amanda Jetté Knox, a transmasculine speaker and author, emphasises the vital role of allies in challenging hate and discrimination.

During a recent walk with their partner in downtown Toronto, they unintentionally encountered a gender critical protest. The group, yelling offensive remarks about genitals, specifically targeted Jetté Knox when one protester recognized them. The incident escalated as their photo was posted on Twitter, accompanied by derogatory comments about their appearance.

Jetté Knox believes that trans people can overcome such adversity by sharing their stories and mobilising allies to actively confront bigotry.

They stress the importance of allies standing up and vehemently opposing transphobia, envisioning a united front where cisgender individuals rally against discrimination.

Jetté Knox emphasises that collective action is crucial to challenge misinformation and create a more inclusive society.
