The UN is concerned about the protection of LGBTI+ rights in the United States

The UN Human Rights Committee has expressed dissatisfaction with discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community in the United States in recent years.

In a new report, the UN committee said it was "deeply concerned" by numerous human and civil rights violations in the US, including the continued rise in state-level discrimination against LGBTQ+ people, Them reported.

On November 3, the UN Human Rights Committee completed its review of the state of human rights in the United States. This is the first such review conducted in 9 years. The committee's report identified 29 different areas of concern where the United States continues to violate the UN International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, despite signing the document in 1992. In particular, the committee expressed concern about the increase in discriminatory treatment that queer people continue to face on a regular basis.
