Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov sends message of support to Musk

In his speech targeting LGBTQI+s, Lavrov supported Elon Musk, who decided to move the headquarters of SpaceX and X to Texas in response to the LGBTQI+ law, saying, “Many people want to get away from the LGBT attack.”

Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov met with civil society organizations operating in Russia on July 23. Lavrov claimed that many people were “fleeing” from the West to Russia “because of LGBT propaganda.”

Lavrov also gave a message of support to Elon Musk, who recently decided to move the headquarters of SpaceX and X to Texas in response to the LGBTQI+ support law passed in California.

According to the news in Sputnik, Lavrov made the following statements:

“Here is Elon Musk... He is moving to Texas because neoliberal values are out of control in California. And he is not the only one. Many people, including in Europe, want to get away from this LGBT attack, the complete disregard for natural historical processes, the values given to us by God. Many people are thinking of coming to Russia, and there are already such examples. I am sure that their number will increase, they will increase.”

What happened?

According to the Advocate, California Governor Gavin Newsom recently signed a bill that prohibits districts from requiring teachers or other staff to disclose a student's sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression to parents or guardians without the student's permission.

"This is the last straw," Musk wrote about his X on Tuesday, using the following statements:

"Because of this law and many others that preceded it that attacked both families and companies, SpaceX will be moving its headquarters from Hawthorne, California to Starbase, Texas."
