Elliot Page: Anti-trans laws in the US: "Outright lies are being spread"

Actor Elliot Page has urged people to “really listen to trans youth” in the face of a wave of anti-trans sentiment in the US, where 527 anti-LGBTQI+ bills have been introduced in just six months.

Famous actor Elliot Page spoke about the issues and political climate faced by LGBTI+ individuals in the US. Page, who participated in the TV program The View, evaluated the Republican Party's policies targeting trans people and especially trans children on the eve of the U.S. election.

Page said that the laws banning the use of hormone blockers during adolescence were prepared with "misinformation" and that he was "incredibly sad, angry and scared" by this wave of legislation. The famous actor continued by stating that the vast majority of people do not know any trans people:

"Misinformation and outright lies are being spread about our lives, who we are and healthcare."
