President of Türkiye Erdoğan targeted LGBTI+s again during his meeting with young people in Erzurum

President of Türkiye and AKP Chairman Erdoğan said, “Unfortunately, we cannot make girls like boys and boys like girls.” Erdoğan targeted LGBTI+s by saying, “We are also against LGBT and such.”

President of Türkiye and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the “Meeting with Young People” program organized at Bilim Erzurum during his visit to Erzurum on December 15.

Family was also among president Erdoğan’s speech topics. President Erdoğan said, “Especially our university youth’s stance on the concept of family should be very different. For example, a subject we are currently focusing on is that young people are not getting married for some reason.”

Following a student’s assessment that divorces are also increasing, president Erdoğan continued by targeting LGBTI+s as follows:

“That is also increasing. Men are very difficult towards girls, girls are very difficult towards boys in marriage. We need to overcome this. From time to time, my friends and I want to help, we say, 'Let's be the intermediary', but unfortunately we see that we can't get girls to like boys and boys to like girls. What do you think? Let's not drag this out too long. I got married at 25. But now we see that it's 30, 35, 40... It's getting out of hand. We need to get married as soon as possible. Young people, you need to sort out your lot at a young age, not at 30-40. I tell this to Eyyüp, 'Look, you are the Chairman of the Youth Branch. That's why you have the responsibility of getting our teams married at a young age, you will be careful about that. And of course, we have another sacred thing, that is, LGBT, we are against these things.”
