Anti-LGBTQI+ law was adopted in Hungary

The Hungarian parliament has adopted a constitutional amendment recognising only two genders – male and female. This was reported by Toplum TV.

The changes will also affect Article 15 of the Fundamental Law, which states that children’s right to physical, mental, and moral development takes precedence over other rights, including the right to assembly.

This amendment will enable authorities to ban demonstrations, including LGBTQI+ marches.

A law banning LGBTQI+ marches was adopted in the country in March of this year.

This law prohibits the organisation of events that violate the law on the protection of children.

Specifically, the law bans the “promotion” of gender transition and homosexuality.

Organisers and participants of events that violate the law may be fined up to 500 euros.

Law enforcement agencies are also granted the right to identify individuals through facial recognition systems.
