Trans woman murdered in Antalya, Turkey
Nida Nazlıer, a trans woman living in Antalya’s Muratpaşa district in Turkey, was found murdered in her home. During the investigation, a knife buried in a flowerpot in the garden was discovered.
Nazlıer was found dead with her throat slit in her home bathroom.
According to reports, H.İ, who lived with Nazlıer, came home after work and found her stabbed in the bathroom. H.İ went out to the balcony and called for help; neighbours alerted the 112 Emergency Call Centre.
According to DHA, police teams who arrived at the scene launched an investigation. During the inspection, officers discovered a knife buried in soil inside a flowerpot in the garden. H.İ, the person who found Nazlıer, was taken into custody.
The Homicide Bureau of the Public Security Branch is also reviewing security camera footage in the area. After the public prosecutor and police examined the scene, Nazlıer’s body was taken to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.
The investigation is ongoing.
