Up to three years in prison requested for Mabel Matiz
An indictment has been prepared against the Turkish singer, whose song "Perperişan" was blocked and a criminal complaint was filed against him for "obscenity". This was reported by Kaos GL.
Singer Mabel Matiz is facing a prison sentence of six months to three years for her song "Perperişan." The prosecutor's office found his defense unconvincing.
The song was first blocked on September 18th at the request of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, and the Ministry of Interior subsequently filed a criminal complaint against Matiz, alleging “obscenity.”
In its complaint submitted to the Ankara Criminal Court of Peace on Duty, the Ministry of Family claimed that “the content of the song could harm the institution of the family, negatively affect the mental development of children and young people, disrupt public order and cause outrage in society.”
Matiz gave his statement to the prosecutor's office on September 22.
