Nafas LGBTI announced Baku Pride Week programme

Nafas LGBTI Azerbaijan Alliance officially announced that it will celebrate Baku Pride Week this year. During the week covering June 21-28, the queer community of Azerbaijan will declare its existence with a number of important events and releases.

As part of Baku Pride Week, the results of two surveys conducted by Barama House will first be shared with the public. It was stated that the surveys will be the 3rd on harassment in schools and the 4th on trust in law enforcement agencies. These studies reflect the daily realities of LGBTQI+ people in Azerbaijan in numbers..

The second important event of the week is the second issue of the Tranzisiyalar magazine, which is the fruit of great work by the MNTR network team. The publication is dedicated to trans and non-binary perspectives.

The final chord of the week will be decorated with a short film called "Köç" (Migration). This film, which depicts the migration stories of queer Azerbaijanis, will premiere on QıyVaar's YouTube channel. The film documents the personal experiences of LGBTQI+ people forced to leave the country.
