Writer posts hateful post against gender-nonconforming person walking on Nizami Street

Writer Nazlı Çelebi, in a post she shared publicly on August 21, targeted an unknown person walking on Nizami Street, the capital's central street, who, in her words, "danced like a woman where music was playing."

In the post, the author described the unnamed person in discriminatory terms and wrote that "in old Baku, such people could not go out among people because of fear, men punished them," in fact openly referring to violence that had occurred in the past and presenting it as a positive example. The author noted that in "modern Baku," men filmed the person "snarling" and shared the video.

At the end of the post, the author labeled the named person and his "friends, relatives, lovers" with offensive terms, including prostitution and infidelity, and demanded that they not comment on the post.
