IGLYO launches survey on LGBTQI+ youth experiences in schools

IGLYO, Europe’s largest LGBTQI+ youth network, has announced the second edition of its pan-European survey examining the experiences of LGBTQI+ youth in schools. The anonymous survey is open until September 30, 2026.

The survey explores the experiences of LGBTQI+ youth who are currently attending school, have recently graduated, or have had to leave school. Questions cover topics such as school policies, instances of discrimination and bullying, mental health and well-being, as well as gender recognition and inclusivity in schools. Completing the survey takes approximately 15 minutes, and it is entirely anonymous and confidential.

Individuals aged 15–24 who have attended school in Azerbaijan or in Council of Europe member states (including Russia, Belarus, or Kosovo) are eligible to participate. IGLYO is particularly keen to receive responses from young women, trans, non-binary, and intersex youth, as well as youth from ethnic minorities, migrant and refugee backgrounds, youth with disabilities, and youth living with HIV.

The survey results will be used by policymakers at both European and national levels to help improve the safety of school environments. IGLYO will also prepare country-specific reports.
