Homophobic "sex-ed" from a psychologist

A few weeks ago, psychologist Samira Babayeva posted a video on her Instagram page entitled "Why sex education is important."

According to the psychologist, sex education is "important for the elimination of same-sex relationships and gender transformation."

The psychologist recommends conversion therapy to her followers under the guise of sex education.

Homosexuality is not a crime in Azerbaijan since 2001, and since 2005 ICD-10 has been used as the only classification in the country.

The Mental Health Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan told Nafas LGBTI Azerbaijan Alliance in their letter that "homosexuality is not classified as a disease in our country" and that it is unacceptable for doctors to prescribe treatment under this diagnosis or "eliminate homosexuality."
