Uganda's President: ‘Save the world from homosexuality’

Uganda's President, Yoweri Museveni, has urged African nations to lead the way in "saving the world" from homosexuality. This was reported by Pink News.

His comments were made after a two-day inter-parliamentary conference in Entebbe, Uganda, where delegates from 22 African nations, along with religious and lobby groups, discussed the "issue" of homosexuality in the continent.

The conference came just weeks after Uganda's parliament passed a controversial Anti-Homosexuality Bill, which seeks to criminalise people for identifying as LGBTQI+.

The bill includes the possibility of the death penalty for those found guilty of "aggravated homosexuality." While there were suggestions that British MPs were in attendance, this is currently unconfirmed.
