Understanding the "Consent" - Lecture

The Akinchi Initiative and Baku Community Space invite you to participate in a lecture on understanding the "Consent".

The lecture will evaluate the understanding of "Consent" within the framework of power, privilege, and exploitation. It will provide information about situations that undermine consent, legal models, examples of legislation on coercion in Azerbaijan, and problematic cases. Different legal models will be evaluated, and approaches will be discussed.

The speaker and researcher for the lecture is Nargiz Muxtarova. Nargiz Muxtarova is the founder of the "Women's Murders" platform and a contributor to the monthly bulletin "Article 25" based on gender. She conducts research and writes reports on gender-based violence and discrimination. In 2011, Nargiz Muxtarova graduated from Baku State University with a degree in Political Science, and in 2018, she received a master's degree in Human Rights from the Central European University.

Date and location:

The lecture will take place on May 19 at 19:00 at Baku Community Space (Bashir Safaroglu 133, SAT Plaza, 7th floor). The doors will open at 18:30. You can enjoy hot beverages and desserts by arriving early. Considering the timing of the event, pizza will be provided for the participants after the presentation.
