Police officer threatened the beaten queer student

On September 27th, Alex Shah, an 11th-grade student at School 225, reported that they had been beaten by another student at the school.

The student, who spoke to Minority Azerbaijan, noted that after the incident gained attention on social media, an officer from the 26th police precinct, whose name they couldn't recall, visited their home to speak with them in a threatening manner.

"He told me that I wouldn't be able to graduate if I didn't delete my posts, and that I was putting myself in danger. He claimed that the media was manipulating me and that I had placed the school in a bad position," emphasised Alex.

Alex further stated that the police officer, despite claiming to be there for an explanation, touched on unrelated matters. For example, they would sometimes say that Elina Haciyeva had not actually been subjected to bullying or that videos depicting the Söyüdlü incidents were edited.

According to Alex, the police officer frequently threatened them, insisting that they were associating with the wrong people and that it would end badly for them: "If my child behaves like you, I'll kill him. Your mother will abandon you."

Despite urging Alex to withdraw their complaint multiple times, the police officer eventually left the scene after receiving an explanation about the incident.
