2% of trans* people in Russia interrupted hormonal therapy due to a transphobic law

The KilkoT-Action initiative published the results of a survey it conducted from August 22 to September 13. 162 people spoke about their experiences of using gender affirmative therapy after the passage of the transphobic law. Only 2% of them interrupted hormonal therapy due to repression.

According to the published results, 69% of respondents had their documents changed, 3% had their documents changed in the process, and 28% did not change their documents. 88% of respondents take hormones. Of these, 67% are with changed documents, 19% are with non-changed documents, and 2% are in the process of being changed. 6% (10 people) plan to start therapy, and 1% (2 people with unchanged documents) do not plan HRT at all.

Only 2% of those who completed the survey had to interrupt therapy because of the law. These are 3 people with unchanged documents. Another 3% (4 people) interrupted hormone therapy for other reasons. These include financial circumstances and the desire to restore fertility.
