Georgia wants to adapt a law against “LGBT propaganda"

Georgia wants to adapt a law against “LGBT propaganda and pseudo-liberal values”. The initiative was made by the ruling Georgian Dream party.

In Georgia, the ruling Georgian Dream party is initiating a bill to combat “pseudo-liberal values, including LGBT propaganda.” This was announced by the leader of the parliamentary majority, Mamuka Mdinaradze.

In his statement, Mdinaradze indicated that in some “friendly countries” children are prohibited from calling their parents mom and dad. He also referred to “international studies”, according to which in countries with “pseudo-liberal ideology” the number of LGBTQ youth reaches “about 20%, and in some places even more.” However, he, of course, did not say what studies confirm the information he presented. In his opinion, “destructive forces” are making attempts to hold gay pride parades in Georgia and “corrupt the country” with the help of film products. Mdinaradze believes that Georgian citizens will not give up their national identity and traditions in exchange for Europeanism.
