President of Religious Affairs and Minister of Family Targeted LGBTI+s in Turkiye

President of Religious Affairs Turkiye Ali Erbaş and Minister of Family Mahinur Göktaş spoke at the First Coordination Board Meeting for the Protection and Strengthening of the Family.

The First Coordination Board Meeting for the Protection and Strengthening of the Family was held in the Dining and Exhibition Hall of the Presidential Complex. Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, Minister of the Interior Ali Yerlikaya, and Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu also attended the meeting.

Speaking at the Coordination Board meeting, Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Göktaş and President of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş targeted LGBTI+ individuals.

Minister of Family Göktaş used the expressions “degenderisation” and “global harmful trend.” Göktaş claimed that many countries were “fighting against harmful trends targeting the family” and said the following:

“Fighting against global risks such as degenderisation, digitalisation, addiction, and individualisation that threaten the institution of the family poses a greater responsibility than ever. Because we are witnessing more frequently global efforts that harm the institution of marriage and family, violate the rights of women and children specific to their age and gender, and negatively affect the social structure.”
