In Russia, 188 fines were imposed for "LGBT propaganda" in a year and a half

In Russia, 188 fines were imposed for "propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations" in 2023 and the first half of 2024. The total amount of fines was almost 30 million rubles. This was reported by TASS with reference to the Judicial Department of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.

For 2023, fines were imposed on 66 individuals, 14 legal entities and 26 officials, the total amount of fines was 16.204 million rubles. For the first half of 2024, fines were imposed on 59 individuals, 13 legal entities and 18 officials, the total amount of fines was 13.7 million rubles.

It is also specified that among those held accountable under these articles over the past year and a half, 12 people were foreigners, to whom Russian courts also sentenced administrative deportation, and seven of them were sentenced to administrative arrest.

In 2024, fines for "LGBT propaganda" exceeded 25 million rubles in Russia. The minimum fine for "LGBT propaganda" was 50 thousand rubles.
