Russia wants to "protect" children from LGBTQI+ video games
Russian State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Volodin spoke about this initiative.
According to Russian State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Volodin, in January Russia plans to "make a decision to protect citizens, primarily children, from destructive content" in video games. "Destructive" content means "committing crimes, information about gender reassignment, drug use, and the presence of LGBT."
On Thursday, January 9, Volodin published a poll on his Telegram channel, asking for an assessment of this decision. The results were distributed as follows: 71% supported this decision, 26% were against, and 3% said they did not care.
At the same time, many assumed that the results were rigged by bots: the poll was closed almost immediately, as soon as more than 70% supported the decision. The comments contained a huge number of messages criticizing this initiative.
