Man who got engaged to a trans woman was expelled from his village

A resident of one of the remote villages of Azerbaijan was expelled from his village for getting engaged to a trans woman he met in Baku, the olke.az website reports.

According to the website, the incident took place in one of the southern regions. The man in question had recently traveled to Baku for work. He met a trans woman in Baku and lived with her for a while in the Narimanov district. During this time, the woman also provided financial support to the man.

The man's family was unaware of the trans identity of the person he was dating and held an engagement ceremony with the participation of close relatives.

However, after the trans woman stayed in the district for a while, the family became suspicious of her tone of voice. After the couple returned to Baku, the man's father filed a police complaint against him and accused of being a drug user in order to separate them.

It was reported that the villagers, who learned of the situation, expelled the couple from the village.
