Police officer in Russia's Sverdlovsk region charged with murdering ex-partner
A police officer in Russia's Sverdlovsk region has been detained on suspicion of murdering his ex-partner. The local newspaper Ural Mash reported on the incident.
According to preliminary information, the traffic police officer, Vadim, had been in a relationship with a man named Marat for several years. After they broke up, Vadim began dating another man named Maxim from the city of Krasnoturinsk.
According to the information, there had been a recent argument between the former partners. Marat allegedly sent private photos to mutual acquaintances confirming their relationship. Allegedly, fearing that this information would spread, Vadim and his current partner invited Marat to a meeting "to talk". An argument broke out during the meeting, and as a result, Marat was strangled to death. The body was thrown out of the car and was found only a week later.
Two people have been detained in connection with the incident and charged with intentional homicide.
It should be noted that in November 2023, the Russian Supreme Court declared the "international LGBT movement" extremist.
