British Embassy issues statement on May 17
“No one should face hatred simply for being who they are”
The British Embassy in Baku has shared a statement on its social media accounts on May 17, the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia.
The embassy’s message reads:
"The British Embassy Baku joins communities around the world today in reaffirming something simple but vital: everyone, everywhere, has the right to live freely, love openly and express themselves without fear. Human rights are not conditional. Dignity is not something that needs to be earned. And no one should face hatred or harm simply for being themselves. Today and every day, we stand for equality and choose love over hate."
