Canada will participate in Eurovision for the first time

Canada will officially make its Eurovision debut in 2027. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the Canadian broadcaster CBC/Radio-Canada announced the news. The country will be the first new participant to join the contest since Australia, which entered Eurovision in 2015.

The debut became possible after CBC/Radio-Canada was granted full EBU membership. Participation in the contest is not limited to European nations; eligibility is tied to a national broadcaster's membership in the European Broadcasting Union. Details regarding the selection of the Canadian representative are expected to be revealed later this year.
