“Queer AF” festival: judge panel Carolina Falkholt

Nafas LGBTI Azerbaijan Alliance and “Queer AF” festival are proudly announcing that Carolina Falkholt will be part of the judge panel. Together with 2 organizational team members she will be evaluating and assessing the entries. Below, shortly about her.

Carolina Falkholt (born 1977) is a Swedish artist known for her characteristic wall paintings. Her works have been included in multiple museum exhibitions, most recently in Wanås Konst, Gothenburg Museum of Art, and Eskilstuna Art Museum. She is represented by Galleri Thomassen in Sweden.

Carolina Falkholt has developed her art form of graffiti by combining painting, drawing, sculpture, performance, text, music and video. Her works challenge old ideas of gender stereotypes and the use and representation of the female body.

“Queer AF” festival extended the deadline for submissions

Additionally, Nafas LGBTI Azerbaijan Alliance and “Queer AF” festival extended the deadline for submissions. Now you can submit your entries by the 31st of January 2021.

This year’s entrance topic is “Queer x Azerbaian – My Body, My Identity, My Heritage”. Artists will send their entries to [email protected] and after collecting all the work we will publish them on the festival's Instagram account (@queerartfest). After publishing, the pieces will be open for public voting for 2 weeks on @queerartfest. After finalizing the votes and evaluating all the entries, the first 3 finalists will receive a symbolic amount of cash prize.
