Social media accounts of LGBTI+s are targeted

Azerbaijani homosexuals say there have been recent attacks on their social media accounts.

LGBTI+ activist Ravan Nasimi said on his Facebook account that he had recently received threatening messages and phishing scams aimed at hacking his accounts.

Another community member, who did not want to be named, told Minority Azerbaijan yesterday that there were regular attempts to hack another homosexual's gmail account. Instagram account of a gay was seized.

On behalf of Minority Azerbaijan, we call on the LGBTI+ community to be vigilant, apply double protection to social media accounts, and avoid dubious links.
