Transphobic attack in Istanbul

According to Istanbul Trans Pride Week, Hayat, a trans woman who was attacked in Bakırköy, was detained and spent the night in detention. 

The committee said in a statement, “We will not allow you to target trans people.”

Trans Pride Week announced that a 17-year-old knife-wielding attacker targeted a trans woman on August 14. According to Istanbul Trans Pride Week, Yaşam, a trans woman who was attacked in the Bakırköy region of Istanbul, was detained and spent the night in detention. 

The knife-wielding attacker was not detained. Istanbul Trans Pride Week announced on its social media accounts that Yaşam, who was referred to court with a request for arrest, was released.
