Rainbow Advocates Academy 2023-2024

Nafas LGBTI Azerbaijan Alliance has announced the "Rainbow Advocates" Program for LGBTI+s who aspire to bring about change in Azerbaijan.

According to the statement by Nafas LGBTI Azerbaijan Alliance, in recent years, thanks to the courageous and tireless efforts of queer activists and collectives, various civil society groups, and journalists, there has been significant awareness raised about LGBTI+ rights in Azerbaijan, both at the local and international levels.

"However, due to the lack of adequate knowledge, skills, and resources, the desired level of access for LGBTI+s interested in activism in the country remains incomplete."

In this regard, to address the existing gaps, Nafas LGBTI Azerbaijan Alliance has introduced the 7-month "Rainbow Advocates" Program. The program is designed based on collective work experience, including similar programs, research, and consultations with experts.

The main goal of the program is to empower newly emerging LGBTI+ initiative groups and activists to strengthen their advocacy skills and support their public participation.

Priority will be given to underrepresented individuals, especially trans and intersex individuals and those from regional areas, in the participant selection process. The program is open to everyone interested in participating.
